버지니아의 전기 유틸리티는 버지니아의 전기화 초기부터 연방과 그 고객들에게 신뢰할 수 있는 서비스를 제공해 온 오랜 역사를 가지고 있습니다.

투자자가 소유한 유틸리티는 버지니아주에서 1888 에 처음 등장하여 1909 에서부터 연방에 최초로 전기를 공급함으로써 버지니아주 소비자들에게 안정적이고 환경에 민감한 전기 서비스를 제공함으로써 요금 납부자들에게 좋은 서비스를 제공해 왔습니다.

반면, 1930년대부터 미국 농촌과 연방의 농장, 가정, 마을, 마을에 안정적이고 저렴한 전력을 공급하는 주민 소유의 전기 공급자인 농촌 전기 협동조합이 설립되면서 전기가 공급되기 시작했고, 그 덕분에 미국 농촌과 연방의 농장, 가정, 마을, 마을에 전기가 공급되기 시작했습니다.

지방 자치 단체는 또한 버지니아의 수많은 도시와 마을의 시민들에게 안정적이고 비용 효율적인 지역 전기 서비스를 제공함으로써 연방에 전기를 공급하는 데 중요한 역할을 합니다.

버지니아의 전기 유틸리티는 고객의 가정과 사업장에 전기를 공급하는 배전 및 송전선을 건설하고 유지 관리하는 특수 직군인 송전선 근로자를 고용하여 지속적으로 자신의 임무에 전념하고 있습니다.

WHEREAS, electric utility line workers consistently and valiantly serve all Virginians, providing them with reliable, affordable electricity, and do so by installing electric service, repairing damage after storms, providing for their own continuing education and training, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism, often putting themselves in harm’s way to restore power after outages caused by inclement weather and natural disaster, and always endeavoring to “keep the lights on;” and

WHEREAS, on Electric Utility Line Workers Day, the line workers of Virginia’s electric utilities are especially deserving of the respect, admiration, and appreciation of all the citizens of the Commonwealth for their example of service above self;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize May 17, 2025, as ELECTRIC UTILITY LINE WORKERS DAY in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all of our citizens.
