WHEREAS, the economic well being of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the quality of life of our neighbors depends on sustained efforts to create, retain, and expand employment opportunities that support long term growth, increase prosperity, and strengthen the Commonwealth’s fiscal foundation; and

WHEREAS, economic development across Virginia requires coordinated action among local, regional, and state partners—including public private collaborations, chambers of commerce, educational institutions, and community organizations—to ensure that every region of the Commonwealth can compete and thrive in a rapidly changing economy; and

WHEREAS, since its founding in 1982, the Virginia Economic Developers Association has supported the advancement of economic development activities and contributed to the Commonwealth’s ability to attract investment, strengthen regional economies, and enhance statewide competitiveness; and

WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Virginia remains steadfast in its commitment to policies that promote business growth, expand job opportunities, encourage innovation, and ensure that economic progress is matched by efforts to keep Virginia an affordable, accessible, and welcoming place to live, work, and raise a family; and
