아동기 언어 실조증 (CAS)은 아동이 말을 배우는 데 상당한 어려움을 겪게 하며, 아동에게 가장 심각한 언어 결함 중 하나입니다.

WHEREAS, the act of learning to speak comes effortlessly to most children, but those with apraxia require early, appropriate, and intensive speech therapy, often for many years, to learn to speak; and

WHEREAS, without appropriate speech therapy intervention, children with apraxia will have diminished communication skills and have a higher risk for secondary impacts on their reading, writing, spelling, and other school-related skills; and

WHEREAS, May 14th marks Childhood Apraxia of Speech Awareness Day, during which awareness will be raised throughout Virginia about childhood apraxia of speech, an extremely challenging speech disorder that affects 1-in-1,000 children nationally; and

연방에서 아동기 언어 실어증에 대한 대중의 인식은 이 신경학적 장애를 가진 아동의 가족과 이들을 지원하는 전문가들이 자신의 목소리를 사용하는 법을 배우는 사람들에게 필요한 서비스를 달성하는 데 필수적이다.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize May 14, 2025, as CHILDHOOD APRAXIA OF SPEECH AWARENESS DAY in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens.
